Have no idea that was a good idea though. Here I tried first applying the LUT on the color page and then sending that image to fusion. I realized though that the color page wasn't sophisticated enough to pull a good key and get rid of spill on the subject so next I tried Fusion. But Here I got confused : I want to correct the subject next with another node but where do the alpha lines go ? Should I be trying to do this with layer nodes? Whatever I tried didn't work Make a mask for the green and then create one of those alpha layer broken lines I tried doing this first in the color page with these successive nodes:

I may have to add noise reduction after correcting the dancer just because she is being pulled out of the shadows. How do i isolate the subject and do color correction on her after the green has been pulled?Ĥ. We have to hand off the subject with an alpha mask as someone else is doing the final compositing.ģ. Where does the LUT fall in this process? I first figured I should do minimal basic corrections > then add the LUT > next Cut the green screen > and finally correct the color and exposure on the subject. Fusion is clearly the right tool but I've never used it before.ġ- should I transcode to pro res HQ first ( I'm on a mac )Ģ.

I tried to do this first in the color page and then in Fusion. Also she has long black hair that isn't back lit and its waving in the air while she swings. Not much backlight or dedicated sidelight to punch her up and while the green is fine the dancer looks pretty dark. Finally he exposed the green fine but his subject - a dancer on a trapeze was not lit very well. He also shot Slog3 and my understanding is that's not a good idea for green screen.

Shot on an A7siii so at least its 10but but the file is mp4. I'm clearly over my head so far.įirst the basic situation. Any help or even direction towards a good resource would be appreciated. I've been watching a bunch of tutorials and have the Resolve manual open but some basic concepts are probably so obvious that no one mentions them, like where in the process do I color correct the subject (dancer) without changing the green. I offered to help a friend key a green screen that i don't think he shot properly in the first place because i need to learn how to do it- which i'm very "green " at if you can stand the pun.
